Brief Overview
APID Fiji was established with a mission to advocate for the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of individuals with intellectual disabilities across Fiji. Our organization is committed to providing support, resources, and opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities, their families, and caregivers, to ensure they lead fulfilling lives with dignity and respect.
Mission
Our Mission is. to support persons with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) in the Fiji Islands and facilitate their inclusion in Education, Employment, Sports, Religion and Community through advocacy, awareness and empowerment.
Vision
A Fiji where persons with Intellectual Disabilities (ID)grow, be respected, and reach their full potential. These persons are provided access to opportunities and empowerment ready for their inclusion and integration into the communities.
Our Objectives
- To promote Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Fiji) and provide support for persons with Intellectual disabilities in Fiji.
To contribute to the development/implementation of appropriate policies/programs concerning persons with Intellectual Disabilities, In Fiji.
To facilitate proper identification, documentation and monitoring of the development* protection and participation of persons with Intellectual disabilities in Fijis.
To be active in capacity building for persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
- To network and build partnership with relevant bodies for the inclusion of persons with Intellectual Disabilities. in Fiji.
To do awareness and advocacy programs in communities to improve knowledge on intellectual disabilities and care for the inclusion of persons with Intellectual disabilities.
