Timeline – (Difference agency different quarter) NBO MEETING QUARTER 1

- Governance Capacity Building (Training Workshop, Meeting & Advocacy)
- The Election Disability Access Working group committee met with the Fiji Election commissioner on the 6th The chair of the committee highlighted the progress of the working group guided by the terms of reference to ensure that persons with disabilities are able to cust their votes with election process accessible to them. The DPOS also raise concerns on some gray areas such as stipulated on the 2014 Electoral Degree such as Blind or Visually impaired persons are unable to bring along their family member or personal assistant to and those with syco social are not able to vote. This was clarified by the commissioners. During the March meeting the coordinator of the Voter Awareness team presented to the EDAWG committee on their plans , and requested if persons with disabilities can also participate during these sessions which will begin from the rural and remote then to the urban areas. The timeline that the team will be working on is for a duration of 1 month two weeks beginning from the 2nd week of March. It was also mention that some funding is put aside for DPOS to access for the voter awareness to persons with disabilities , in which it will be further discuss with FDPF and DPOS who are members of EDAWG.14th March the EDAWG committee was invited to weakness the lonch of the Know your Election voter awareness drive with other invited guests.
- FDPF President and OMÂ Â met with UNICEF on Disability inclusion guideline on accessible WASH during disasters to persons with disabilities.

The Office Manager with Project officer attended a PDF back to back training on accessibility, SDG and Inclusive budgeting  that was held in Tanoa International Nadi from the 13-22 February with DPOS from Solomon, Kiribati, Tuvalu and Vanuatu , including the Fiji DPOS.This was a great learning as be progress our advocacy work at policy and budget levels for more and better outcomes. We are thankful to Pacific Disability forum and FDPF for this opportunity,
- FDPF was selected as one of the CSO to take part on the UN Women Markets for Change Midterm evaluation consultation  with consultancy on  the  project for persons with disabilities. Also the  experiences on decision making  project management from OM, as   member of the committee. Also the UN Women Markets for Change project management committee meeting continues on a quarterly bases done in different The March meeting  will be taking place in Nadi, where by OM is the member of the committee from FDPF.s
-  The staff continue to have  staff development sessions with Mr. President on a weekly bases, and it has enhance our knowledge. This has also been extended to the other affiliates in beginning with review of the National Disability Policy preparing us  for the consultation. Also on the National budget consultation Â
- FDPF staff have been conducting their staff meeting on a weekly bases: From this meeting the staff is requesting to FDPF Office opening hour to be move to 9am. Reason being that  the staff distance to travel to work is far, heavy traffic during pic hours   and hence   staff are arriving into work
- The OM continues to attend AHP Fiji committee meeting on monthly bases. It is  also noting here  the staff attended parliament sitting  and wetness the  passing of the rights of Persons with disabilities bill 12 in parliament on the 12th    Â

KRA 2: EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT
- Microfinance
- Have been working closely with Tevita Gade of Reserve Bank of Fiji regarding the profiling process for people living with disabilities. Mr. Gade has been working closely with Lagi Fisher from FDB regarding the finances for funding needs analysis. I have forward them a revised contact list of the 26 FDPF members that was in business and Mr. Linga had forward the same to FMCs. FMCs will be contacting these individuals and finalising the profile and do a business needs analysis (BNA) this is to give some ideas before they can link these individuals to donors and banks.
- Inclusive Education
- Information from FEMIS was not accessible to public and the team will be needing to seeking approval from the Permanent Secretary – Education

- Fiji Disabled Peoples Federation – Tailevu North
- Preparers name: Maciu Kuru (Vice President)
Their Current Month Goal
- 6th of October, 2017 the branch had a meeting with Litia Naitanui (rewa Branch) & also Vasiti (social Welfare – Korovou)
- Appointed new trustees which are Maciu Kuru, Katarina R & Laisani
- For the branch to open a bank account
- Vasiti from social welfare – korovou discussed briefly on the budget that is allocated towards the branch leaders and she also advised about the disability allowance of $90 that will not be including the food voucher
- Requesting the DO if there can be an office for the branch was advised by DO to look for Land to build office
- FROM December meeting, Maciu Kuru suggested if the branch can have 2 fishing boats, 1 for Verata & one for Sawakasa, as a source of income

- The branch members have come up with a date for meeting to assign the new Board members for the branch (23/02/2018) since Suresh Chand (vice President) have passed on so they need to elect new leaders
- Secretary have been contacting members to come to office and see what they have been working on and also broaden horizon
- After the branch meeting on the 23rd they have decided on the following :

- Litia Naitanui and Naomi attended The Central Division Craft Show, coordinated by the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation for 2 days from 1st & 2nd of March, 2018 at the Sukuna Park, Suva and they showcased the talents of the Women with Disabilities from Rewa and the Tailevu Sector.
Their Current Month Goal
- For this month Tailevu South has been trying to get as many people to attend the meeting on the 23rd
- FNCDP will be conducting a training for the Tailevu South members at the Vunimono Hall on the 12th to the 16th
- Â Â Pauline Fong was the only one that new the details for the Tailevu South Bank account, ever since she passed now one bothered to follow up. After the meeting the new president Mr. Ligica will follow up with Bank of Baroda to get details of the current balance at bank.Â
- Finally the branch will try to Improve on the collection of Data’s and to get more members in

- Â Â Â SWIP a program lead by social welfare about the disability census. 13.7% is incorrect as per Litia N and Salote Biukoto and they want to prove this with the data they have.
-    Also on the 8th was the International Women’s Day, Litia and Lanieta attended this occasion at GPH and she also showcased the handcraft done by the vocational students

- United Blind Persons
- On the 23rd of February the DRF team from FDPF and affiliates including UBP will be doing a Human Rights training at the Naboro Prisons (Disability Inclusive in Prison. Funded by the UNOCHA.
- On Monday the 26th of February, UBP did their handover “White cane – Walk with confidenceâ€. The Chief Guest was the Australia’s High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes who handed over the two hundred white canes saying that this will support the independence, confidence and safety of blind and visually impaired adults and children in Fiji. (Inserted: Australian High Commissioner John Feakes handing over the Cane to Josua Naulumatua Tokalaulevu on February 26)
- Spinal Injury Association
- On the 2nd of February, Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation with SIA & physio Net has their consignment handover. Items included wheelchairs, reading glasses, blankets & much more. These items were also handed over to other affiliates for their members. (inserted : Joshko Wakaniyasi of the Spinal Injury Association talks to the Melanie Hopkins the British High Commissioner during the handing over of wheelchairs yesterday (02/02/2018)

- Early February SIA had their AGM and have elected new board members to lead the association through the coming years & they are:

- Psychiatric Survivors Fiji
- During the Physio Net Handover PSA received 4 cartons of blankets. Sera and PSAs volunteer took 2 cartons on the 5th of March to St Giles, to handover blankets to patients and they took sometime sharing with them.
- The remaining 2 cartons will be handed to their members in the community, but still thinking of a day to action this.
- Fiji Association for the Deaf
- Fiji association for the Deaf is now preparing for the Deaf rugby this April in Australia, 25 men will be travelling to this tournament if granted visa
